Welcome Longhorns! We are so excited to welcome new members to Texas Mock Trial this fall. Everything you need to know about trying out can be found below.
Tryout Process
STEP 1: Fill out our Recruitment Interest Form
Fill out the recruitment interest form. This puts you on our radar, and it helps us keep track of you as you move throughout the tryout process. It’s quick—just basic biographical data. Please also monitor our social media @texasmocktrial and fill out our mailing list form for more updates.
STEP 2: Attend an Information Session
Attending an information session is mandatory to sign up for a tryout. We are holding two info sessions this year, but you only need to attend the one that works best for you!

Info Session #1
September 2nd at 7pm
WCP – 1.402 Auditorium

Info Session #2
September 3rd at 7pm
WCP – 1.402 Auditorium
STEP 3: Attend a Boba chat at Tapioca House (Optional!)
Boba chats will take place after our info sessions at Tapioca House on Guadalupe Street. Feel free to stop by if you have any questions. Meet a team member or two, run your tryout material for feedback, or just say hi! This is only for your own comfort and totally optional.
STEP 4: Prepare for your Tryout
Practice, practice, practice! We want to see what you’re made of, so we recommend memorizing your material so we can see you at your best. Everything you need to prepare can be found in the Tryout Packet, which contains all relevant information for your tryout, extra resources to help you prepare, and the written content you’ll rely on for the witness portion of your tryout.
STEP 5: Complete the Commitment Google Form
If you make the team, you must attend all scheduled practices, weekend scrimmages, and competitions. Because of how big of a time commitment our team is, you must disclose any potential conflicts you may have and you must certify your intent to meet the team’s practice & tournament schedule. The commitment form will be released and explained at your info session. You must complete and submit the form before you can tryout.
STEP 6: Attend your Tryout
Tryouts are being held September 11th-14th this year! Please arrive to your Tryout no later than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. We apologize in advance if we are running 5-10 minutes late. If we are running late, please wait outside the tryout room. After tryouts, we will be in touch individually.
If you have any questions about the tryout process, please do not hesitate to reach out to texasmocktrial@gmail.com or @texasmocktrial on Instagram.
